Is Jared Kushner's Middle East Peace Iniative Working?

Noah Feldman, Bloomberg: Jared Kushner's Dreams of Mideast Peace Are Alive

His strategy of developing a relationship with the Saudi crown prince is a step in the right direction.

It was easy to miss it, what with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson being fired and President Donald Trump fueling rumors of more personnel shake-ups. But last week Jared Kushner, presidential adviser and son-in-law, presided over a highly unusual White House conference on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Who participated was noteworthy: Israel was there, alongside Arab states with which it does not have diplomatic relations, such as Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Who didn’t participate was noteworthy too: the Palestinians, who have been boycotting Trump since his announcement that the U.S. will have an embassy in Jerusalem.

WNU Editor: Too soon to say where this is all going to end up, and the Palestinians have shown no interest to "play ball" after President Trump announced that he was moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. On a side note .... I guess this does not bother Jared Kushner .... Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Boasts That He Has President Trump's Son-In-Law Jared Kushner In His Pocket (March 22, 2018).

I have seen a vice president of a Fortune 50 company get around the nepotism rules of a Fortune 50 company. The day after the VP retired, they walked their child's app through HR. Their child got hired.

I have seen a kid, who majored in French in school, get handed an 11 million company. I knew the 1st time, who the kid was, when I saw them. It took the kid and 2 buds to deliver a printer to a satellite location. They were coking and joking and one of them was wearing sweatpants or sweatpant cutoffs. I saw them 1st from behind and did not see any faces and so would not be able to see any family resemblances.

Kushner would not be my pick. I do not like him. He looks prissy. Still, I don't care if Trump picked him for familial reasons (especially with all the leaks & backstabbing). I just don't care. However, now that Kushner had the job , he has better do a good job and not be a squish.

There are a lot of leaks going on and a lot of untruths being told. I do not particularly like the crown prince either. We shall see what the truth is.

What I am more upset about is the "corruption by proxy" of Joe Biden, Bitch McConnell, and John Kerry.

McConnell needs to go inside of 18 months. There needs to be a recall election. He needs to go when Flake and Corker leave.

Joe Biden should not be considered for the Democratic ticket. Joe shucks and jives well enough that the media and democrat voters eat it up with grins o their faces.

"Too soon to say where this all going to end up...." This is true. The same could also be said about the North Korea/South Korea situation.

With that said both are moving in the right direction. We recently had the first flight from Israel over Saudi territory in 70 years. This is huge. It is a bit like agreeing to allow the person who has been your worst enemy for as long as you have lived to enter your house and eat your food. Whoever managed to accomplish this did an amazing work. The only new variables to this equation are Jared Kushner and team Trump. As such, the conclusion that Jared and team Trump were instrumental in this is reasonable and highly likely.

To think he is being denied access to information he may need to do his job and that a person in his position would normally be expected to have all for pure partisan political reasons is outrageous. I've said it before and I will say it again. Give me a family member or close friend that I can trust and that I know will have my back over someone with years of experience in something whose trustworthiness is questionable at best and whose support for me is even more questionable and I will pick the family member or close friend every time. Anyone who has ever owned or managed a business will likely understand this concept.

It'd be best for the country if the partisan hacks including the clown general McCaffrey got out of the way and not interfere with POTUS or his team members in doing their jobs. If they can assist and add value, all the better. Otherwise they are part of the problem. Quit being part of the problem and start being part of the solution. Start by GETTING OUT OF THE WAY!!

Jared Kushner is probably not worried about what the Saudi crown prince said. While not the brightest thing he has ever said, it was clearly for domestic consumption. Besides this Saudi Arabia has used and abused us as their b!tch boy for decades. Had someone else been president this probably never would have been reported. The Saudi leader probably did not take this into account when he spoke.

I'm more interested in results. While there is still much that can go wrong, the results seem headed in the right direction at present. The only new variables to the equation are team Trump and specifically Mr. Kushner. As such, the conclusion that he was/is instrumental in the process is a reasonable one.
